Friends! First of all--thank you, thank you, thank you. To those of you who prayed, who contacted me personally, who shared your stories or the stories of those you know and love--thank you. The past few days have been a trial for Daniel and me, and your support overwhelmed us and kept us going. I wish I could hug each of you around the neck.
I woke up this morning to a phone call from the nurse for my follow up appointment--the doctor wanted to see me today instead of next week. I jumped out of bed, called Daniel and a couple of hours later I was lying on my back getting gel squeezed onto my tummy for the second time this week. The doctor was extremely thorough and answered all of our questions as he looked over every little detail of our baby. He showed us the beating heart and said it looked "so pretty." He showed us the hands, flailing and punching me from the inside. He showed us the feet dancing and kicking. He showed us the brain and the kidneys and the bladder. He showed us the stomach emptying and filling. He showed us between the legs and we found out who we were expecting. And most importantly, he showed us the PERFECT LITTLE ABDOMEN--completely absent of any defect or deformity. Baby Rock's organs are where they should be, prayer warrior friends--the scan looked nothing like the original just a few days ago. Our babe is healthy and beautiful and right on track!
God is REAL and He hears us, you guys. Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. Thank you for going to Him on our behalf. Thank you for standing beside us during our most fearful days. Thank you for wanting so much for an unborn child many of you will never even meet, for whom I want every good and perfect thing. Praise the Lord for your willingness to pray.
We will have more details for you tomorrow on our sweet babe--sex, name, and more on today's story. For now, please have the best holiday weekend ever. Seriously. Take yourself out to ice cream or something. You are the best.
