It's no secret that having a baby is pretty much the coolest thing in the world. It's also one of the most demanding. Add in the extra work that comes with having a high needs tiny one, and you have quite a recipe for stress and forgetting to take care of yourself (or in my case, not really knowing how at this point!).
So I thought I'd toss this question out there--how do you relax? Do you do anything daily? What tricks help you unwind and just breathe? I'd love your help!
We're expecting thunderstorms tonight, and I'm looking forward to falling asleep to rain hitting the roof. As long as baby girl cooperates, of course.
I love oil diffusers! And putting lavender in it. The "fancy brand/pyramid scheme" ones are pretty pricey but amazon/whole foods/natural grocers have pretty reasonable ones. They also have ones with changing light colors. That paired with the Stress Relief spottily or some worship music and I am at my most relaxed :)

ReplyDeleteI craft - knit, crochet, etc - usually while watching a movie or some TV show on Hulu. Or I drink some tea and read. I think of you often, seester!
ReplyDeleteIf I have time, a walk really relaxes me (if the weather is sunny and I am not in a hurry to be somewhere else). If I have less time, sitting on the couch or the porch with something fun to drink like sweet tea or hot chocolate and listening to a worship music playlist (make your own so that you can pick the songs that most speak to your heart). And if I only have a few seconds and I am trying to find peace in the midst of chaos, I recite Psalm 23, preferably out loud. By the time I get to verse three, my heart rate slows and my shoulders release tension.
