Saturday Style: Snowed In

It's beautiful out, but there's no way we're subjecting the babe to a photoshoot outdoors today. So here we are, cozied up in bed, dreaming of a summer vacation we're trying to narrow down.  After all this stress, we can't wait to get away for a bit!

Mini Inspiration

Thanks for letting me unload a little yesterday, friends.

Let's keep this frigid Friday a little lighter. Came across this pin a few days ago...

I mean, come on.  This is one of those things I wish I'd come up with first. So great!

Stay warm!

To Tell You the Truth

I am angry. I am so angry.

My child hasn't been getting enough to eat, and I didn't know it. When I suspected it months ago, they told me I was wrong. I believed them, and she went on to eat too little.  She went on to be poked by strangers every day of the week, tested for all kinds of scary things.

I feel sick.

She wanted to eat all the time. She cried while nursing.  She cried most of the day and wouldn't take naps.  She was hungry, and I doubted myself.

Please forgive me, Lord, for failing my baby.  Please forgive me, sweet Edie, for not knowing.  For taking four months to feed you well.

I feel sick. And so, so angry.

Mornings with the Babe

Just dropping in to let you all know we're still pushing through! Scrambling around to feed this babe all the time--routine this week is nurse, supplement with pumped milk through sns, pump, and repeat--but she's gaining weight (and nursing better every day, I think!) so I'm happy to do it! Thank you all for the prayers and support through this extremely emotional season.  I'll have much to share soon!

Eden Faye, Four Months

Hi, friends! I'm FOUR MONTHS old today!
Here's what I'm up to lately:

-I weigh 9 pounds, 11 ounces and am 24 inches long.  I'm in the 30% for length, 50% for head circumference, and still not on the chart in weight. :(
-I wear newborn and 0-3 months clothes and newborn diapers.
-I go to bed around 8 and sleep one six plus hour stretch if mom lets me
(she usually half-wakes me to nurse every few hours).
-I've started my own two to three hour daily routine: eat, play, nap.
-I had two surgeries on my mouth this month,
and now eating is completely different!
-Getting my tongue tie revised helped me like the car better--I can sleep now!
-The surgeries also made my acid reflux go away!
-I talk to mommy all day long.
-I love it when mommy asks for a kiss--I slobber all over her face!
-I hold my toys and bring them to my mouth,
but I'm more interested in my own hands.
-I recently found my feet, too, and they're so fun to grab!
-When I'm sitting on mommy or daddy's lap, I lean away from them
for a little bit and try to sit up on my own.
-I love baths and showers.
-I grab blankets/towels and pull them up to my face.
-I still love the mirror.
-I love when mommy and daddy talk to each other,
I smile real big and try to join the conversation!
-I think Penny is very interesting--I like watching her run around.
-I love walking/squatting my legs while mommy holds me up.
-I roll from front to back and back to side.

---

Edie babe, I have so many prayers and hopes for you swelling in my heart every day, but lately my main prayer has been that you would start packing on the pounds.  I didn't expect to still be fighting this at this point and I'm so tired of watching you get poked by doctors every day, but I will continue to do everything in my power to protect and take care of you. Despite all of this, you are the most loving, sweet girl and I am so proud to be your mommy. I love you I love you I love you, little lady.

Saturday Style: Valentine's Day Edition

^^This little love of mine...

Happy Valentine's Day, sweets! Again, I apologize for the silence.  Baby E had a second surgery this week and her weight isn't responding yet. I've been a frantic mess trying to pump after each feed to up my supply/give her extra milk as well as running her around to multiple appointments a day. We're having a rough time.

But today I'm thankful for the love I have in these two ^. This girl came along and exploded my heart into something 100 times its original size, and having Daniel beside me to fight for her makes it grow even more every day.

Praying we have happy news to share soon.

I hope you feel loved today!

Happy Valentine's Day, Matt & Katherine!

These two are so funny--these are NOT engagement photos, they wanted to make that clear.  But who doesn't want a few pretty pictures with the one they love? Totally understandable, if you ask me!

Sorry for being MIA again this past week. More struggles with the babe, and I am honestly just barely hanging on. Really hoping to have some happy news soon.

Weekly Links

Happy February, friends! I'm a little preoccupied this week--the babe has at least one appointment every day for post-surgery body work/weight checks/etc. But we're getting by! More on all of that soon. For now, a few lovely links :)

A pretty little MOCKTAIL for the pregnant/nursing ladies
(or for those of you like me, who don't really drink anyway) just in time for Valentine's Day.

Planning a little daddy/daughter photo session soon with my two loves, so I'm loving THESE.

Really wish I didn't love SUGAR so much.

This ANTHRO SWEATSHIRT is calling my name.

The loveliest free VALENTINES PRINTABLES.
